Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Context
- Our company is one of the leading companies in Bangladesh having world class garments manufacturing facilities supplying wide range of world class ready-made garments for internationally reputed buyers in the U.S.A, Canada, Europe, Japan etc. is looking for dynamic and highly potential for the above-mentioned position.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, source, and develop reliable suppliers for garment accessories.
- Collect and compare quotations from different suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Source garment accessories such as buttons, zippers, sewing threads, labels, hangtags, elastic, polybags, cartons, and other packaging materials.
- Prepare cost comparisons, costing sheets, and sourcing reports.
- Coordinate sample collection, submission, and approval in accordance with buyer requirements.
- Ensure the quality, specifications, and compliance requirements of sourced materials.
- Follow up on purchase orders, production status, and timely delivery of accessories.
- Coordinate with the Merchandising, Commercial, Procurement, Quality, and Production departments.
- Maintain supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and other relevant documents.
- Develop new suppliers and maintain strong business relationships with existing suppliers.
- Ensure timely sourcing of accessories to meet production schedules and shipment deadlines.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Merchandising, or Business Administration will be preferred..
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sourcing or merchandising of garment accessories will be preferred.
- Candidates with relevant experience in the garments or textile industry will be given preference.
Additional Job Requirements
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of garment accessories, suppliers, market prices, and sourcing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and email communication.
- Ability to prepare costing sheets, comparative statements, and sourcing reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
