- Company Overview
- We are a growing freight forwarding and logistics company providing reliable air and sea freight, customs clearance, documentation, and end-to-end logistics solutions. We are looking for an experienced and responsible professional to manage our Chittagong office and oversee all operational, documentation, and administrative activities.
- Position Summary
- The Manager – Operations (Chittagong) will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day functioning of the Chittagong office. The position will oversee freight forwarding operations, customs-related activities, shipment documentation, employee management, customer coordination, and branch administration.
- The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance, port-related operations, and office management, along with strong knowledge of the Chittagong logistics environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and functioning of the Chittagong office.
- Supervise and manage all employees working at the Chittagong branch.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor employee performance, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintain discipline, professionalism, and smooth coordination among branch employees.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Chittagong office and Head Office in Dhaka.
- Report operational issues, branch activities, and important developments to management on a regular basis.
- Ensure proper maintenance of office records, files, documents, and administrative matters.
- Oversee the complete operational handling of import and export shipments through Chittagong Port and related logistics channels.
- Supervise FCL, LCL, sea freight, container, and other freight forwarding activities handled by the Chittagong office.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, C&F agents, transporters, terminal/port authorities, and other relevant parties.
- Monitor vessel schedules, shipment status, container movements, delivery orders, and cargo release processes.
- Ensure shipments are handled efficiently and within required timelines.
- Resolve operational issues, delays, documentation discrepancies, and other shipment-related problems.
- Ensure proper coordination between customers, agents, carriers, customs, and internal operational teams.
- Supervise and coordinate customs clearance and port-related activities at Chittagong.
- Maintain professional working relationships with relevant Customs, Port, Shipping, and other government authorities.
- Monitor customs documentation, assessments, examinations, releases, and other related procedures.
- Ensure proper follow-up of customs-related matters and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with C&F/customs clearance teams to ensure smooth cargo clearance and delivery.
- Keep management informed of important changes in customs procedures, port requirements, and operational matters.

- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline. Relevant professional experience may be considered.
- 20–25 years of relevant professional experience in freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance, logistics, port operations, or related fields.
- Extensive practical knowledge of Chittagong Port, Customs, shipping, freight forwarding, and local logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of import/export procedures, customs clearance, freight documentation, and port-related activities.
- Proven experience managing a branch office, operations team, or large operational function.
- Strong leadership and employee management skills.
- Good understanding of BL/HBL/MBL, DO, customs documentation, import/export documentation, and shipment procedures.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with customers, shipping lines, customs, port authorities, C&F agents, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to handle operational challenges, urgent situations, and time-sensitive shipment matters.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferred Candidate
- Retired Government personnel, particularly candidates with relevant experience in Customs, Chittagong Port, Shipping, Commerce, or related government departments, will be highly preferred.
- Candidates with extensive professional networks and practical knowledge of Chittagong Port, Customs, and shipping-related authorities will be given preference.
- Candidates with previous experience managing a freight forwarding/logistics branch office in Chittagong will be highly preferred.
