Job Description / Responsibility
- Company Overview: Kisan Botanix Limited is an established agricultural company engaged in the production of potato seeds, Gerbera plantlets, and other agricultural products. We operate our own tissue culture laboratory and production facilities and are seeking an experienced professional to lead laboratory operations, improve productivity, and support business expansion.
- Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all tissue culture laboratory operations, including production planning, quality control, and staff supervision.
- Develop, optimize, and implement tissue culture protocols to improve productivity, multiplication rates, and plantlet quality.
- Establish production targets, monitor KPIs, and ensure timely achievement of production goals.
- Maintain strict laboratory hygiene, contamination control, and quality assurance standards.
- Oversee laboratory budgets, inventory, equipment maintenance, and procurement to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Coordinate with greenhouse and field production teams to ensure successful plantlet hardening, survival, and growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, capacity expansion, and adoption of new technologies.
- Prepare regular management reports covering production performance, quality, costs, and operational efficiency.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Biotechnology, Agriculture, Plant Science, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in plant tissue culture and commercial plant propagation.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management position.
- Proven experience managing commercial-scale tissue culture production.
- Experience with potato and/or Gerbera tissue culture will be an advantage.
- Additional Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of tissue culture and commercial plant propagation.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage production targets, control costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Willingness to visit production fields regularly.
