Assistant Manager - Production

Job Description / Responsibility

Assist the Production Manager in planning and executing daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
Supervise production operations and ensure achievement of planned production targets.
Monitor line efficiency, productivity and operator performance and take corrective action where required.
Ensure the availability of required skilled manpower for the sewing section.
Take responsibility for line/style shipment and timely completion of production.
Ensure compliance, discipline and proper workplace practices within the section.
Prepare and maintain accurate style closing reports.
Ensure the availability of manpower, machines, materials and tools for uninterrupted production.
Monitor production progress and resolve bottlenecks to minimize downtime.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
Ensure proper implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across production areas.
Monitor overtime and labour utilization to optimize production costs.
Ensure timely completion of customer orders while maintaining required quality standards.
Implement and follow management decisions and coordinate effectively with relevant departments.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor/Honors

Experience Requirements

At least 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments

Additional Requirements
• Strong knowledge of production operations, line efficiency, productivity and manpower management.
• Good leadership, team-management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and achieve production and shipment targets.
• Candidates with direct plush/soft toy manufacturing experience will receive preference.
