Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Summary
- Safia Apparels Ltd. is seeking an experienced Finishing In-Charge to lead and manage the finishing section of the factory, ensuring garments are ironed, folded, tagged, packed, and shipped in accordance with buyer specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all finishing section activities including ironing, folding, tagging, poly-bagging, and cartooning
- Ensure finishing output meets buyer AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) standards and factory quality benchmarks
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) and Production teams to ensure smooth garment flow from sewing to finishing
- Monitor manpower allocation and daily production targets within the finishing section
- Ensure compliance with buyer packing instructions, carton markings, and shipment documentation requirements
- Maintain finishing machinery (steam iron, vacuum tables, thread sucking machines) and coordinate maintenance as needed
- Track daily finishing output, wastage, and rejection rates; prepare production reports for management
- Ensure compliance with factory compliance, safety, and hygiene standards in the finishing floor
- Liaise with the Merchandising team regarding shipment schedules and any last-minute buyer requirements
- Train and mentor finishing line supervisors and workers to improve efficiency and reduce rejection
Educational Requirements
- Minimum HSC/Diploma in Textile Engineering or equivalent;
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 6 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Spinning, Textile
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 22 to 33 years
- Experience in a similar Finishing In-Charge/Supervisor role in a woven or knit garments manufacturing/export factory
- Strong knowledge of garment finishing processes, packing standards, and buyer compliance requirements (e.g., Walmart, H&M, or similar retail/export buyers)
- Familiarity with AQL inspection standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising 20+ workers
- Good communication skills in Bangla; basic English preferred for buyer/QC documentation
- Ability to work under pressure to meet shipment deadlines
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP/production tracking software
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing practices in the finishing section
