Job Description / Responsibility
- A first generation leading private commercial bank is seeking for an experienced and visionary banking professional for the position of Head of SME Banking to lead its SME Banking Division. The incumbent will provide strategic, business, and operational leadership to drive sustainable growth, profitability, customer experience, digital transformation, and sound portfolio quality across the Bank’s SME assets and liabilities.

- Job Location: Head Office, Dhaka
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate and execute the Bank’s SME, CMSME, Agri, Sustainable Finance, and Financial Inclusion strategies in alignment with overall business objectives, market opportunities and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the growth and profitability of SME/Agri Loans, and other SME banking products and services.
- Identify customer needs, review and formulate new SME products of the bank accordingly.
- Monitor branch-wise SME/CMSME and Agri business performance against approved targets for loans, deposits, and other preferential business, and take corrective measures as required across the Bank’s network.
- Lead the digital transformation and automation of SME/Agri credit processes, monitoring systems, and management reporting to enhance efficiency, service quality, and risk management.
- Represent the Bank in senior management forums and maintain effective relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, business partners, and other key external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective governance and compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations, internal policies, approved risk parameters, and applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, or related discipline is preferred with no third division.
Experience Requirements
- At least 12 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At most 52 years
- Minimum 12 years of banking experience, with substantial and relevant experience in SME/CMSME Banking with experience in a leadership capacity within a private commercial bank or NBFI. The experience requirement may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified candidates.
- In-depth knowledge of SME Banking products, credit processes, regulatory requirements, and Bangladesh Bank guidelines, including refinance and preferential financing schemes.
- Proven track record of designing SME banking products, driving SME//CMSME/Agri business growth, profitability, customer acquisition, and portfolio expansion while maintaining sound asset quality.
- Proven leadership capability with the ability to lead, develop, motivate, and manage large teams and drive performance across branches and business units.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, analytical and decision-making skills.
