Job Description / Responsibility
- Process purchase orders and coordinate with local and overseas suppliers for raw materials and components.
- Prepare and review import documentation including LC, proforma invoices, packing lists, bills of landing and certificates of origin.
- Liaise with banks for LC opening amendment and retirement of documents.
- Coordinate freight forwarders, shipping lines and clearing & forwarding agents for shipment, clearance and delivery.
- Ensure timely customs clearance and compliance with HS code classification, valuation and duty structures.
- Monitor shipment schedules and track cargo status, update internal stakeholders on arrival timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of imports, duty payments and supplier/ vendor data.
- Ensure compliance with import policies, rules and regulations of Bangladesh.
- Reconcile import costs, freight and duties, support cost saving initiatives.
- Resolve discrepancies in documentation, shipment or quality with suppliers and agents.
- Liaise with production and planning departments to align import schedules with production requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports on import status, lead times and cost for management review.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Supply Chain Management
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Supply Chain Management
Experience Requirements
- At most 1 year
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Wholesale, Retail Store, Leather goods/ Footwear/ Tannery
- Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
