Job Description / Responsibility
- Design and develop new clothing, accessories, and fashion collections.
- Research current fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and consumer preferences.
- Create sketches, illustrations, and design concepts.
- Select suitable fabrics, materials, colors, patterns, and trims.
- Develop prototypes and samples and make necessary design modifications.
- Work closely with pattern makers, tailors, garment technicians, and manufacturers.
- Ensure designs meet quality, fit, comfort, and production requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source fabrics and other materials.
- Monitor the production process to ensure the final product matches the approved design.
- Prepare technical specifications, measurements, and design documentation.
- Attend fashion shows, exhibitions, and industry events to stay updated on trends.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop commercially successful collections.
- Manage multiple designs and projects while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Ensure designs reflect the brand`s identity and target customer requirements.
- Create seasonal and occasion-based fashion collections.
- Develop mood boards, color boards, and concept boards for new collections.
- Study customer needs and market demand to develop commercially viable designs.
- Analyze competitors and identify new opportunities in the fashion market.
- Prepare detailed design sheets and garment specifications.
- Create prints, embroidery designs, motifs, and surface embellishments.
- Experiment with different fabrics, textures, silhouettes, and construction techniques.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor in Degree in Fashion Designing, Textile Designing, Apparel designing or in relevant field
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Boutique/ Fashion, Buying House, Garments, Textile
- Freshers are also encouraged to apply.
