Senior Product Developer (Denim Wear)

Job Description / Responsibility

Develop new denim products from concept to sample stage, with a focus on denim bottoms & tops (jeans, shorts, skirts, Jackets, etc.).
Stay updated on global denim trends, wash innovations, sustainable denim developments and make trend reports, mood boards, and color stories for buyers.
Analyze and select denim fabrics based on composition, weight, stretch, and construction.
Understand and propose appropriate wash types for new developments, knowing how each wash performs on different denim fabrics.
Identify, source, and evaluate trims and accessories (buttons, rivets, labels, zippers, etc.) from local and foreign suppliers, applying them creatively to enhance product value and design appeal.
Work with the design, merchandising, sampling, washing, and production teams for styling, garment construction, printing, embroidery, and special finishes.
Take care of buyer visits, factory presentations, and development meetings; build good relationships with buyers.
Follow up on buyer comments and execute design/wash modifications accordingly
Prepare tech packs, design presentations, and development reports
Make sure every sample matches the buyer`s requirement in design, wash, fit, and quality.
Coordinate with fabric mills, trims suppliers, and sample sections for timely development
Lead the full product development work — sampling, new techniques, washes, trims, fabrics, and fits.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Textile Engineering
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) in Fashion Designing

Experience Requirements

At least 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Buying House, Garments

Additional Job Requirements

Age At most 35 years
Strong knowledge of denim fabric and fabric composition (cotton, polyester, spandex/elastane mix, Rayon).
Clear understanding of denim wash types and which wash works on which fabric.
Able to create new designs and present them confidently to buyers.
Experience with denim bottoms will get preference.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Knowing Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop is mandatory.
