Job Description / Responsibility

Position: Deputy Manager – Maintenance & Utilities
Location: Gazipur, Bangladesh
Industry: Sweater Manufacturing
Job Responsibilities
Oversee all factory maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and utilities.
Monitor and maintain power distribution systems, electrical panels, generators, compressors, pumps, and other utility equipment.
Ensure uninterrupted factory operations by managing power outages, load management, generator operation, and backup power systems.
Supervise diesel, gas, and utility consumption and maintain proper records and controls.
Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and utility operators.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and utility-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate maintenance work for knitting, linking, finishing, washing, and supporting equipment.
Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical spare availability.
Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and service providers when required.
Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and proper maintenance procedures.
Prepare maintenance reports, utility consumption reports, and improvement plans for management.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor/Honors
Diploma
Diploma/B.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience Requirements

At least 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Sweater Industry, Industrial Machineries (Generator, Diesel Engine etc.)

Additional Job Requirements

Age At least 21 years
8–12 years of experience in factory maintenance and utilities.
Experience in sweater, knitwear, or garment manufacturing will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of generators, electrical systems, compressors, pumps, boilers, and utility management.
Experience handling factory power management and diesel consumption control.
Ability to lead maintenance teams and work under pressure.
Practical, hands-on troubleshooting skills are essential.
