Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager /Senior Manager – Fashion Design & Product Development to lead our product development initiatives, drive innovation, strengthen buyer relationships, and support business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in garment product development, fashion trends, fabric innovation, technical execution, and team leadership.
- Key Responsibilities
- Product Development & Innovation
- Lead the overall product development strategy, ensuring excellence in sampling, new techniques, washes, trims, fabrics, fits, and product innovation.
- Drive seasonal product development aligned with market trends, buyer expectations, and company capabilities.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all style developments, maintaining development calendars and critical milestones.
- Coordinate with design teams on new product concepts, styling details, garment construction, and embellishment techniques, including washing, printing, embroidery, and special finishes.
- Source and evaluate fabrics, yarns, trims, and accessories from local and international suppliers.
- Business Development & Buyer Management
- Identify new business opportunities based on factory capabilities, machinery, technical expertise, and production capacity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential buyers across global brands.
- Support buyer visits, factory presentations, capability demonstrations, and development meetings.
- Prepare product presentations and development proposals for buyers.
- Ensure all buyer communications receive timely and professional feedback within 12 hours.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Fabric, Technical, Merchandising, and Production teams to align development activities with buyer requirements.
- Organize technical review meetings to assess product feasibility and mitigate production risks.
- Resolve fabric, accessories, wash, fit, and treatment-related issues prior to sampling and bulk production.
- Ensure product engineering and development decisions align with profitability and commercial targets.
- Sample Management & Performance Improvement
- Drive improvements in sample approval rates, including Proto, Fit, PP, and Size Set samples.
- Monitor sample performance and implement corrective actions to enhance buyer confidence and increase order conversion rates.
- Conduct daily development review meetings to track progress, monitor T&A adherence, and ensure on-time execution.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Product Development and Design teams.
- Monitor team performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular skill development, technical training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Textile Engineering
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) in Fashion Designing
- Bangladesh University of Textiles,BGMEA University of Fashion Technology students will get preference
Experience Requirements
- 10 to 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Boutique/ Fashion, Garments
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 35 to 45 years
- Bachelor`s degree in fashion design, textile engineering, apparel manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in garment product development, fashion design, merchandising, or related functions.
- Proven experience working with international fashion brands and retailers.
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, yarns, garment construction, washing, printing, embroidery, and product costing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
