Job Description / Responsibility
- Position Summary
- The Technical Head is responsible for overseeing all technical operations related to manufacturing, molding processes, maintenance, utilities, tooling, and process optimization. The role ensures efficient production, equipment reliability, product quality, cost control, and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing & Process Management
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure molded components meet quality, performance, and customer requirements.
- Optimize injection molding, blow molding, and related manufacturing processes to improve productivity and product quality.
- Monitor production processes and implement corrective actions to address technical issues.
- Ensure timely delivery of molded components to support production and development schedules.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for production machinery and manufacturing processes.
- Tooling & Mold Management
- Coordinate with external vendors for the development, modification, and maintenance of molds, tooling, fixtures, and related equipment.
- Draft, review, and execute mold validation protocols.
- Review mold drawings, specifications, and engineering changes.
- Manage mold maintenance programs and monitor mold performance.
- Source, maintain, and track mold spare parts inventory.
- Maintenance & Utilities Management
- Oversee maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and plant utilities, including:
- Injection molding machines
- Blow molding machines
- Chillers
- Air compressors
- Generators
- Utility systems and supporting equipment
- Coordinate maintenance planning and technical support activities across the facility.
- Analyze equipment downtime and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure maximum machine availability and operational efficiency.
- Project & New Product Development Support
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams during concept development, prototyping, validation, and product launch phases.
- Evaluate equipment and tooling requirements for new programs.
- Recommend capital investments and technology upgrades to support business growth.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and develop technical, maintenance, and tooling personnel.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate team performance.
- Identify training needs and support employee skill development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Budget & Cost Management
- Develop and manage maintenance and technical department budgets.
- Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and training programs.
- Promote a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Generate technical, maintenance, downtime, and performance reports.
- Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability.
- Support company-wide operational excellence programs.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 32 years
- 8–15+ years of experience in manufacturing, molding, maintenance, or technical operations.
- Strong experience with injection molding, blow molding, mold maintenance, and plant utilities.
- Proven leadership experience managing technical and maintenance teams.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, process improvement methodologies, and safety standards.
