Job Description / Responsibility
- 1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare and implement daily, weekly, and monthly knitting production plans according to order requirements.
- Ensure proper machine loading, yarn allocation, and production scheduling.
- Maintain fabric GSM, diameter, shrinkage, and other parameters as per buyer specifications.
- Monitor production targets, efficiency, and output against plan.
- 2. Machine Operation & Maintenance
- Supervise operations of circular, flat, rib, interlock, and other knitting machines.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize machine downtime.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.
- 3. Quality Control
- Ensure fabric quality from yarn to grey stage meets required standards.
- Maintain control over GSM variation, spirality, lycra ratio, oil stains, and holes.
- Coordinate with the QA and QC teams to identify and minimize knitting defects.
- 4. Manpower Management
- Supervise and lead shift-wise operators, supervisors, and helpers.
- Conduct training and performance evaluations to improve team productivity.
- Maintain discipline, motivation, and an efficient work environment on the production floor.
- 5. Yarn & Material Management
- Manage yarn requisition, issue, and consumption records.
- Control yarn wastage and monitor stock levels to ensure smooth production flow.
- Coordinate with the dyeing and finishing departments for timely fabric delivery.
- 6. Coordination with Other Departments
- Maintain close communication with Merchandising, Production Planning, Dyeing, and Maintenance teams.
- Submit daily production, efficiency, and wastage reports to management.
- Ensure on-time delivery of knitted fabrics to subsequent processes.
- 7. Cost & Efficiency Control
- Monitor machine utilization, energy consumption, and manpower efficiency.
- Analyze production cost per kg and take corrective actions to reduce waste and cost.
- Drive productivity improvement initiatives to achieve departmental KPIs.
- 8. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure workplace safety, machine guards, and proper housekeeping.
- Comply with all organizational policies, labor laws, and compliance standards.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
- Bachelor/Honors
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 35 to 55 years
- Only Male
- Minimum 10–15 years of practical experience in Knitting operations.
- Must have strong practical experience in sourcing, coordinating, and executing Knitting production through external subcontract factories.
- Previous experience as Department Head in Knit Composite, Textile, or Garments Industry is mandatory.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.Good knowledge of production planning, quality assurance, cost control, and vendor management.
- Computer literacy, especially in Excel, ERP, and reporting systems.
- Candidates having educational qualification from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) are encouraged to apply.
