Job Description / Responsibility
- We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Business Manager / Merchandising Manager for the garments sector to oversee merchandising operations, buyer communication, order execution, and business development activities. The candidate will be responsible for managing orders from development to shipment while ensuring quality, compliance, profitability, and timely delivery.
- Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage merchandising operations for assigned buyers and accounts
- Maintain strong communication with international buyers, suppliers, and factories
- Handle order development from inquiry to shipment completion
- Prepare costing, pricing, and quotation sheets for buyers
- Coordinate sample development, approvals, and production follow-up
- Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time shipment and order execution
- Work closely with sourcing, production, quality, and logistics teams
- Negotiate prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers and vendors
- Ensure product quality and compliance requirements are met
- Analyze order profitability, production capacity, and business opportunities
- Resolve merchandising, production, and shipment-related issues efficiently
- Develop business strategies to expand customer accounts and increase sales
- Monitor inventory, raw materials, and accessories planning
- Prepare reports on order status, production updates, and business performance
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, factory standards, and company policies
- Lead and supervise merchandising team members to achieve departmental goals.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Honors
- Bangladesh University of Textiles students will get preference
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, or related field
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Buying House, Garments
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 30 to 45 years
- 7 -10+ years of experience in garments merchandising/business management
- Strong knowledge of garments production, sourcing, costing, and shipment procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple buyers and orders simultaneously
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP systems
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
