Research Engineer - Digital & Circular Technologies

Job Description / Responsibility
- Role Overview: We seek a multidisciplinary professional Research Engineer to develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies that enable transparent, circular, and data-driven sustainability solutions. The role will support for developing innovative solutions leveraging Artificial intelligence & Machine learning, blockchain for traceability, dataspaces for secure data sharing, Digital Product Passports (DPP), and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to advance circular economy goals.
- Key areas of technology:
- Secure, decentralized data infrastructures using blockchain, Dataspace or similar architectures.
- Digital Product Passports (DPPs) that support traceability, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), using Environmental Footprint (EF) method and planetary boundaries framework.
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning knowledge & techniques.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Research Support: Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing existing research
- Managing, organizing, analyzing and interpreting data for analysis, assisting with statistical analysis, producing reports and presentations summarizing findings.
- Document technical developments, publish results, and contribute to project deliverables and scientific publications.
- Learning new technologies and contributing for developing innovative solutions.
- Communicating findings and progress to researchers and other stakeholders.
- Collaborating with researchers and other professionals.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technical/Engineering, Environmental Science
Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and research techniques.
- Research Skills: Experience in conducting experiments, following research protocols, and collecting data.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
- Required Qualifications:
- Professional & Innovation-Oriented, track record of working in interdisciplinary or industry-oriented environments.
- Academic and/or Professional (preferred) experience in the field of blockchain technologies, federated data spaces, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools and standards, Machine learning/AI tools for predictive modeling.
- Programming proficiency in Python (preferred), Java, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with data modeling, APIs, and semantic web technologies.
- Strong documentation and collaboration skills.
