Job Description / Responsibility
- We are expending our business and looking for a dynamic, energetic and organized General Manager (Production).
- We are a large and well-established knit/woven/denim/sweater buying house committed to delivering high-quality apparel to global buyers. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Production/Operations Department.
- The General Manager (Production) is responsible for developing, executing, and controlling production plans to ensure on-time delivery, optimum capacity utilization, and efficient use of resources. The role coordinates with merchandising, production, supply chain, warehouse, and quality teams to maintain smooth workflow and achieve company production targets.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end production.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Coordinate with Factories & Quality team.
- Ensure on-time shipment.
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements.
- Prepare and present regular production and performance reports to management.
- Manage & Direct activities congenial to ensure achievement of production targets and guide to factories to attain targets for the respective unit within given time-frame.
- Direct and control the day-to-day operations of the production ensuring that the production plan is adhered to by buyer requirement.
- Identify production blockages and take necessary steps to solve.
- Must have experience to handle minimum 10 to 15 factories.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the planning team across all factories.
- Regularly communicate with factories management regarding production status.
- Implement a "Production Management" framework where production owned by the time frame, not just the inspection team.
- Coordinate with merchandising to review order details, T&A calendar, delivery dates, and production feasibility
- Ensure timely availability of fabric, trims, and accessories in coordination with the source.
- Track production progress daily and compare plan vs. actual to ensure on-time shipment (OTIF)
- Conduct regular meetings with cross-functional teams to review production status and solve operational issues
- Direct and control the day-to-day operations of the factories production department ensuring that the production plan is adhered to by customer requirement.
- Lead, mentor and develop the merchandising all teams.
- Having good relationship with valued Customers
- Takes responsibility for overall monitoring and supervision of all merchandising and marketing activities for the assigned Buyers.
- Understands the strategic business requirement of the organization and suggests new capability building based on market intelligence.
- Addresses all customer complaints on a priority basis.
- Carry out any other jobs as assigned time to time.
- Merchandising & strong for Marketing also Buying House/Factories.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Science (MSc) in Textile Engineering / Apparel Manufacturing / Fashion Design/ Industrial Engineering or related field
- MBA will be an added advantage
Experience Requirements
- 10 to 12 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Buying House, Garments, Textile
Additional Job Requirements
- Age At least 45 years
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in Buying House/ garments manufacturing industry.
- At least 3–5 years in a senior management role (ED/GM/AGM/DGM level).
- Strong experience in production management, Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of knit/woven/denim/sweater production process.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale of Production planning and efficiency improvement expertise.
- Applicants have very sound technical knowledge of merchandising in knit/woven/denim/sweater garments.
- Ability to lead and manage team for Production Follow up, Buyer Handling, Marketing, Merchandising.
