Job Description / Responsibility
- A. Customs Clearance Operations
- Manage import customs clearance activities at: Chattogram Custom House, Dhaka Airport Customs, EPZ Customs Stations, Benapole Land Customs.
- Ensure timely release of import consignments from port, airport, ICD, and off-dock facilities.
- Monitor Bill of Entry submission, customs assessment, examination, and delivery process.
- Handle customs queries, valuation disputes, and assessment objections.
- Coordinate customs inspections and physical examination processes.

- B. Bond & EPZ Management
- Maintain bonded warehouse compliance under Bangladesh Customs Bond Rules.
- Supervise UP, IP, EXP, UD, and bond-related documentation and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with Bond Commissionerate and EPZ customs officials.
- Ensure proper utilization of duty-free imported materials.
- Maintain accurate bond stock and consumption records.

- C. Documentation & Compliance
- Verify and monitor all import-related documents including: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading / Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin, Insurance Documents, IRC/ERC, L/C documents, PI/Indent.
- Ensure compliance with: Bangladesh Customs Act, NBR Rules & SROs, Import Policy Order, Bond Licenses, BEPZA Regulations, Maintain updated records for audit and customs verification.
- D. Port & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with: C&F Agents, Shipping Lines, Freight Forwarders, Transport Providers Airlines, Off-Dock Operators.
- Monitor vessel schedules and cargo arrival status.
- Arrange transportation and delivery to factory warehouse.
- Minimize demurrage, detention, port rent, and storage costs.

- E. Cost & Duty Management
- Monitor customs duty, VAT, AIT, AT, and other government charges.
- Ensure proper HS Code classification to avoid penalties and excess duty.
- Prepare duty calculation and shipment cost analysis reports.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives in customs and logistics operations.

- F. Liaison & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong liaison with: Customs Officials, Port Authorities, EPZ Authorities, Bond Commissionerate, Banks, Freight & Shipping Companies
- Resolve customs hold, discrepancy, short shipment, and auction-risk issues.
- Support urgent production-related import clearances.

- G. Team Leadership & Reporting
- Supervise clearing executives, C&F staff, and logistics personnel.
- Evaluate performance of external clearing and transport vendors.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly shipment status reports.
- Train team members on customs compliance and operational procedures.
- Special Functional Responsibilities
- Chattogram Sea Port Operations
- Handle FCL/LCL container clearance.
- Coordinate off-dock and ICD operations.
- Monitor vessel berthing and container delivery.
- Manage fabric, trims, chemicals, and machinery imports.
- Dhaka Airport Customs Operations
- Handle urgent air shipment clearances.
- Coordinate with cargo terminal and airline representatives.
- Ensure emergency raw material delivery for production continuity.
- EPZ Operations
- Handle IP/EP procedures and inter-EPZ transactions.
- Ensure compliance with BEPZA regulations.
- Coordinate factory-based customs clearance where applicable.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Management/Accounting/Finance/Supply Chain Management/International Business Logistics or related discipline
- Master of Commerce (MCom) in Management/Accounting/Finance/Supply Chain Management/International Business Logistics or related discipline
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
