Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Summary:
- Responsible for leading and managing all commercial operations, including import, export, LC handling, customs compliance, documentation, and stakeholder coordination. The role ensures smooth shipment execution, cost control, regulatory compliance, and supports strategic decision-making while leading the commercial team for operational excellence.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Ownership: Take overall responsibility for all commercial activities of the organization.
- Operations Management: Plan, manage, and oversee import, export, and local commercial operations.
- LC Management: Handle LC opening, amendment, negotiation, acceptance, and retirement in coordination with banks.
- Documentation Control: Ensure accurate preparation, verification, and submission of all commercial and shipping documents.
- Customs & Compliance: Manage customs clearance, bonded warehouse operations, VAT, tax, and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain strong coordination with banks, C&F agents, shipping lines, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Shipment Monitoring: Monitor shipment schedules, lead times, and delivery timelines to ensure smooth operations.
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with Bangladesh customs laws, import–export policies, and internal company procedures.
- Cost & Risk Management: Analyze and control commercial costs, duties, and associated risk factors.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit commercial reports for management review, audit, and compliance purposes.
- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and develop the commercial team to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Strategic Support: Support management in strategic planning, process improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other commercial responsibilities assigned by management.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)
- Master of Business Studies (MBS)
- Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Experience Requirements
- At least 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Group of Companies, Manufacturing (FMCG)
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 40 to 60 years
- Strong knowledge of LC, customs, bonded warehouse, VAT & tax.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of commercial functions.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
