Job Description / Responsibility
- We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to lead our Commercial Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end commercial operations, including international trade, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance in a high-volume business environment such as large conglomerates or multinational organizations.
- Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead and manage all commercial operations including import, export, and local procurement activities.
- Develop and implement effective commercial strategies to ensure business growth and operational efficiency.
- LC & Banking Operations
- Manage complete Letter of Credit (L/C) processes including opening, amendment, negotiation, and retirement.
- Maintain strong coordination with banks and financial institutions.
- Logistics & Customs Management
- Supervise C&F agents, freight forwarders, and transport operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure smooth customs clearance and shipment handling.
- Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure full compliance with local and international trade regulations.
- Maintain adherence to Customs Bond regulations, NBR policies, VAT, and tax requirements.
- Cost Control & Efficiency
- Monitor and control logistics-related costs including demurrage, detention, and duty charges.
- Implement effective shipment planning and risk management strategies.
- Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong professional relationships with banks, regulatory authorities, suppliers, and international partners.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare detailed commercial reports, cost analysis, and shipment updates.
- Support management with strategic insights and audit-ready documentation.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Supply Chain Management
- MBA / Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commercial and supply chain operations.
- Candidates with experience as Commercial In-Charge or Head of Department in large groups or multinational companies will be preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of H.S. Code classification and customs duty structures.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Bengali.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
