- Position Overview
- We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer - Research & Development (Asst. Manager) who has strong technical knowledge and practical experience in designing and developing the following products:
- Electrical Switches
- Sockets
- Gang Switches
- Plugs
- Extension Sockets / Multiplugs
- Exhaust Fans
- LED Lights
- Key Responsibilities
- Product Research & Development
- Design and develop new models of switches, sockets, gang switches, plugs, extension boards, exhaust fans, and LED lighting products.
- Improve existing product performance, safety, and durability.
- Study market trends and competitor products for innovation opportunities.
- Develop energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Electrical Design & Engineering
- Design electrical circuits for LED drivers and lighting systems.
- Develop internal wiring and safety mechanisms for extension sockets and multiplugs.
- Ensure proper load handling capacity and surge protection.
- Select appropriate components and materials.
- Prepare schematics, technical drawings, and BOM.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct load testing and performance testing.
- Ensure compliance with BSTI and other relevant safety standards.
- Perform insulation resistance, temperature rise, and short-circuit tests.
- Analyze product failures and implement corrective actions.
- Factory & Production Support
- Coordinate with Production, QA, and Procurement teams.
- Develop SOPs for assembly and testing.
- Train technical staff on product specifications.
- Ensure smooth transition from R&D to mass production.
- Cost & Efficiency Optimization
- Optimize product design to reduce manufacturing cost.
- Improve energy efficiency of LED lights and exhaust fans.
- Suggest alternative materials/components when needed.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical files, design documents, and compliance reports.
- Maintain version control of design updates.
- Submit periodic R&D progress reports to management.
- Maintain testing records and certification documentation.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead the R&D engineering team.
- Coordinate with procurement for component sourcing.
- Work with marketing for technical product specifications and catalog preparation.
- Manage project timelines and R&D budget allocation.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) from any reputed academic institute.
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience in electrical product design and development, preferably in energy-efficient or power-related products.
- The candidate must have hands-on experience in electrical accessory product development and factory-based production support
- Proven managerial experience in leading R&D teams.
- Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical design software, simulation tools, and testing equipment.
- Sound understanding of energy efficiency standards and regulatory compliance.
- Sound on technical managerial hybrid position involving product innovation, Electrical circuit design, Factory process integration, Quality control, Cost optimization
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to transparency and accountability.
