Job Description / Responsibility
- Design Development: Create innovative and commercially viable designs for various garment categories (e.g., Knit & Sweaters) according to seasonal trends and buyer requirements.
- Sketching & Technical Drawing: Prepare detailed hand sketches or digital illustrations and create accurate technical packs (Tech Packs) including measurement charts and stitching details.
- Trend Analysis: Conduct extensive research on global fashion trends, fabric developments, color palettes, and silhouettes to stay ahead in the market.
- Fabric & Trim Selection: Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories that align with the design aesthetics and cost constraints.
- Sample Supervision: Collaborate closely with the sampling department and pattern makers to ensure the initial samples match the design specifications and fit requirements.
- Product Development: Oversee the entire product development process from concept to the final approved golden sample.
- Communication with Buyers: Liaise with international or local buyers to understand their design visions and provide creative solutions or modifications as needed. Collaborate directly with buyers, presenting design concepts, samples, and specifications. Ensure client requirements and deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Ensure that the final designs are feasible for mass production without compromising quality or increasing unnecessary costs.Work closely with the production and quality control teams to ensure designs meet the highest standards of quality and are produced within budget and timelines.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CLO 3D (if applicable) to create professional design presentations.
- Deadline Management: Ensure all design projects and sample developments are completed within the stipulated TNA (Time and Action) calendar. Manage and mentor a team of junior designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them grow professionally.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fashion Designing Experience.
Experience Requirements
- 6 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile, Sweater Industry
