Assistant Manager - Wash Production (Knit Garments, Ashulia)

Job Description / Responsibility

Assist in planning and executing daily and monthly production targets for garments washing.
Monitor washing processes such as enzyme wash, stone wash, acid wash, bleach wash, silicone wash, garment dyeing, etc.
Ensure smooth workflow from receipt of garments to final dispatch.
Coordinate with planning, finishing, quality, maintenance, and IE teams for uninterrupted production.
Ensure washing quality meets buyer requirements and approved wash standards.
Monitor shade consistency, hand feel, GSM, shrinkage, and appearance.
Support implementation of corrective actions to reduce rework, rejection, and shade variation.
Supervise production supervisors, technicians, and line workers.
Allocate manpower efficiently to meet production schedules.
Assist in training operators on washing techniques, machine handling, and SOPs.
Ensure proper utilization of washing machines, dryers, hydro extractors, and finishing equipment.
Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive maintenance and breakdown control.
Monitor water, chemical, steam, and power consumption.
Ensure compliance with buyer, social, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain proper handling, storage, and usage of chemicals.
Ensure use of PPE and adherence to safety guidelines.
Prepare daily production reports, efficiency reports, and wastage analysis.
Maintain production records, chemical consumption data, and machine logs.
Assist Production Manager in audits and buyer visits.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
Master of Science (MSc) in Textile Engineering

Experience Requirements

6 to 10 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
