Job Description / Responsibility
- This is one of the key positions under the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Department. This incumbent requires knowledge, experience, and competency to research, plan, design, develop, coordinate, report and supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of plumbing, sanitary and fire protection and detection systems as efficiently and effectively as possible. The incumbent will collaborate with the architect, structural engineer, customer service department, project execution team, supply chain management, logistics and client representative.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed plumbing and sanitary designs and working drawings for water supply, drainage, ventilation, gas supply, architectural water body, fountain and swimming pool, fire protection & detection systems, etc., ensuring that installation and operation comply with code, standards and project requirements.
- Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish the technical specification of all types of equipment like water pumps, fire pumps, dewatering pumps, mechanical ventilation, etc.
- Review and respond to the designs, drawings, specifications and work schedule submitted by contractors and vendors.
- Lead the preparation of detailed estimates, forecasts, and change orders for all plumbing, sanitary & fire items.
- Negotiate collected rates from vendors of different plumbing & sanitary, and fire-fighting items and assist in issuing the purchase order.
- Review contractors’ and vendors’ bills and validate them.
- Execute and supervise all plumbing & sanitary work and fire-fighting work for all projects in accordance with specifications, cost, quality and delivery dates.
- Monitor the installation, testing & commissioning works of all types of plumbing & sanitary systems, equipment and fire protection & detection systems, etc.
- Communicate with consultants/clients to acquire decisions concerning steady work progress.
- Monitor and report to leadership management regarding project details, including progress, remedial measures, payment status, risks and opportunities.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
- Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology,Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology,Khulna University of Engineering and Technology,Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology,Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology students will get preference
Experience Requirements
- At least 7 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Group of Companies, Developer, Real Estate
Additional Job Requirements
- Age 32 to 50 years
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience in the real estate industry.
- At least 3 years of experience as the lead of the plumbing, sanitary, and fire-fighting works in a reputable real estate organization will be advantageous.
- The applicants should have experience in the following areas: active involvement in plumbing, sanitary, and fire-fighting works of high-rise residential and commercial buildings with 3 to 4 basements, design and drawing, cost and budget, bill of quantity, fire detection & protection equipment, construction project management, project planning, etc.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory norms such as Bangladesh Fire Service & Civil Defense (BFSCD), etc. and provisions in the related field like Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) etc.
- Sound technical knowledge of fire-fighting, mechanical ventilation, building management systems etc. installation, testing & commissioning.
- Must know computer applications of AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit MEP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc.
