Job Description / Responsibility

To operate, monitor, and control the green leaf threshing line to ensure efficient separation of tobacco leaf, minimal losses, consistent quality, and safe plant operation according to production targets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate green leaf threshing machines (feeders, threshers, separators, conveyors, and related equipment) as per standard operating procedures.
Monitor leaf flow, moisture level, and feed rate to maintain optimal threshing efficiency and product quality.
Adjust machine settings (speed, clearance, airflow) to minimize stem content, fines, and leaf damage.
Ensure proper segregation of lamina, stem, and waste according to process requirements.
Identify and report abnormal machine behavior, blockages, vibrations, or quality deviations.
Perform routine checks, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance of threshing equipment.
Coordinate with upstream (receiving/conditioning) and downstream (drying, redrying, packing) operations for smooth line operation.
Maintain production records, downtime logs, and quality-related observations.
Follow all safety, fire prevention, and housekeeping (5S) guidelines within the plant.
Assist maintenance teams during breakdowns and planned shutdowns.
Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP, and occupational health & safety standards.
Quality & Safety Responsibilities:
Maintain consistent threshing quality as per grade and blend requirements.
Prevent cross-contamination and product mixing.
Use PPE correctly and follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.
Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, or incidents.

Educational Requirements

Secondary
Minimum SSC / equivalent (technical background preferred).

Experience Requirements

2 to 5 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Tobacco

Additional Job Requirements

Practical knowledge of green leaf threshing process and machinery.
Ability to read basic process parameters and production instructions.
Troubleshooting skills for mechanical and process-related issues.
Teamwork, discipline, and strong attention to detail.
Willingness to work in shifts and high-dust industrial environments.
