- Role Overview
- As a leading and reputed organization in the real estate sector, Welcare Group BD committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial, compliance, and corporate governance, currently we are looking for a dynamic and competent professional to join our Finance department as Head of Accounts and Finance. The position is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of Welcare Group BD and its sister concern companies. The role requires a dynamic financial leader who can ensure strong financial governance, drive profitability, manage risk, and support long-term business expansion.
- Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial & Accounting Leadership
- Develop and execute the Group’s overall financial and accounting strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial and accounting guidance to the Board of Directors and senior management.
- Lead financial feasibility studies, business modeling, budgeting frameworks, and investment analysis.
- Financial Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Ensure timely preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Supervise preparation of accurate management reports, financial statements, and MIS reports.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
- Accounts Management & Financial Control
- Oversee general accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Ensure proper maintenance of books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems, policies, and SOPs.
- Supervise account reconciliation and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Compliance, Audit & Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, VAT, tax, and other legal requirements in Bangladesh.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.
- Oversee banking relationships, loan management, and credit facilities.
- Develop effective treasury strategies to ensure financial stability and risk mitigation.
- Risk Management & Governance
- Identify financial and accounting risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper corporate governance practices across all entities.
- Develop and monitor financial risk assessment frameworks.
- Investment, Fundraising & Capital Structuring
- Lead capital structuring initiatives including debt and equity financing.
- Evaluate investment portfolios and funding opportunities.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships through financial due diligence and valuation analysis.
- Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts and Finance teams across all group companies.
- Establish performance metrics and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation and system improvements within accounting and finance functions for enhanced efficiency and transparency.Bottom of Form
Educational Requirements
- Masters
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CA / ACCA / CMA preferred
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Advertising Agency, Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Developer, Importer, IT Enabled Service, Power, Real Estate, Travel Agent
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 07-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- The applicants should have experience in the area(s) of Accounts, Finance, Internal Audit, Tax (VAT/ Customs Duty/ Income Tax) Knowledge of local laws on Account & Finance procedure is essential.
- Experience managing finance operations for multiple business units or group companies
- Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, taxation, and compliance
- Proven expertise in QuickBooks/ Tally and other accounting software.
- Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
- Hands-on experience in payroll management systems.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes and policies
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and Bangla.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines with accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to transparency and accountability.
