As we scale our impact and partnerships, we are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager – Fundraising, Partnerships & Grants Management to lead our resource mobilization efforts and foster high-impact collaborations with donors, corporates, and development actors.
- Job Summery
- The Manager will spearhead Amal’s fundraising strategy, manage donor and partner relationships, and oversee the full grants management cycle. This role demands strong leadership in business development and a proactive, creative approach to driving sustainable funding for our mission. He/She will be involved in researching potential donors and collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify potential funding sources.
- Responsibilities:
- Fundraising & Proposal Development :
- Develop and execute Amal’s annual fundraising strategy and pipeline.
- Lead concept note and full proposal development in collaboration with programs and the finance department.
- Maintain a proposal calendar, ensuring timely submissions aligned with donor priorities.
- Generate donor intelligence and conduct mapping of funding opportunities.
- Ensure cost-recovery and competitiveness in proposal budgeting.
- Conduct donor research and analyze donor funding trends to match donor focus with Amal’s priority program themes in Bangladesh.
- Share new funding opportunities with the program manager/Teams, Senior management, and the executive director.
- Identify opportunities for fundraising with in-country donors and private foundations, or corporations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on donor-funded projects.
- Provide support to develop a fundraising strategy for the organization.
- Participate in the management and development of international financial partnerships. (Prospection and proposal writing on his/her portfolio and elaboration of partnership communication tools according to the needs).
- Monitor online platforms for calls for proposals and funding opportunities.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that incorporates diverse income streams, including grants, consultancy services, and other alternative revenue sources.
- Monitor funding trends and opportunities to adapt and refine strategies.
- Proposal Development and Grant Acquisition :
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Prepare and submit compelling funding applications, complete with costed project budgets, ensuring alignment with donor criteria.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and donor standards for proposals and bids.
- Donor and Partner Engagement :
- Cultivate and manage relationships with existing donors to secure long-term support.
- Conduct outreach to potential funders and partners, initiating and leading discussions on new funding opportunities.
- Represent the organization in business development efforts, networking events, and donor meetings to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Grant Management :
- Facilitate the process of signing contracts with the donors.
- Maintain donor communication on behalf project implementation teams.
- Facilitate occasional visits of doors when necessary.
- Update project staff and Finance Department for donor financial requirements
- Update and manage project documents filling and sorting (Both physical, and online google drive drop box).
- Ensure the support project implementation teams with project monitoring and evaluation, Accountability, and learning.
- Business Development :
- Maintain and update a database of funders, consultants, and partners to support business development efforts.
- Provide strategic insights and guidance for competitive bid decisions and resource approvals.
- Lead the management of prime and sub-bids for donor-funded opportunities, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely submission.
- Donor Engagement and Relationship Building :
- Identify and contact potential donors and partners.
- Report on a monthly basis on the status of all donor engagements and upcoming plans.
- Raise the profile of Amal’s work and leverage influence and funding from partners
- Meet with potential partners, and attend relevant conferences.
- Draft expressions of interest, concept notes, proposals and presentations, to be submitted to potential donors.
- Prepare reports for donors according to the grant agreements, and ensure that such reports meet all donor requirements and are submitted on time.
- Monitoring and Reporting :
- Assist in tracking the report progress against fundraising targets to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board.
- Provide monitoring and evaluation reports for key grants and contracts as required.
- Communications, Influencing and Coordination :
- Plan and execute donor engagement events jointly with members.
- Participate in relevant external meetings or networks.
- Build strategic collaborations with key external partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leadership & program teams.
- Information Systems & Reporting :
- Maintain up-to-date dashboards, donor tracking, grant databases, and reporting systems.
- Support the development of MIS tools for grants and donor management.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Arts (MA) in Development Studies
- Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business Development, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- 7 to 8 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):

Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7-8 years of professional experience in relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience of fundraising management.
- Strong understanding of the Bangladesh development landscape and international donor frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in proposal development and positioning for diverse donors.
- Strong leadership and management skills, particularly in guiding proposal teams. and overseeing the business development process from strategy formulation to compliance and delivery.
- Proficiency in negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally when appropriate and safe.

AMAL Regularly organize health camp with free medical and dental checkup with medicines, vaccines and vitamins to children.Along with that basic treatment/check ups to the lpocals distressed people.
AMAL: Health Camp in Slums
AMAL Knows the conditions of hygines in slums and to facilate necessary medicines to protect people from diseases. AMAL is working in Rayer Bazar Slum, Dhanmondi regularly and give free medical treatment to children and women.
