Job Description / Responsibility
- Sydney International School (SIS) uses the Cambridge curriculum blended with an Australian activity-based and child-centred learning system. We are committed to providing quality education through a world-renowned curriculum, with a blend of Bangladeshi customs and culture. SIS is a co-educational and diverse institution founded in 2012, the school ranges from playgroup to A’ level. Our school campus is located at Gulshan 2 in the diplomatic area of Dhaka.
- Subject: English Language and Literature (Primary and Lower Secondary)
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach English Language and Literature to primary and lower secondary students with an emphasis on developing language skills, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Facilitate the teaching of other subjects (e.g., Science, Social Studies, Math) which are taught in English, ensuring clarity and comprehension for both local and international students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that caters to the needs of diverse learners, including international students.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
- Encourage active participation and engagement in classroom activities.
- Assess and track student progress through assignments, tests, and interactive evaluations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to ensure the highest teaching standards.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor/Honors
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). A background of O/A levels will be an additional qualification.
Additional Job Requirements
- Teaching certification and accreditation. CIE-trained teachers will have extra preferences.
- Strong command of English (both written and spoken).
- Previous experience teaching primary-level students is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a multicultural classroom with international students.
- Proficiency in English.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a passion for student success.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training in teaching (e.g., PGCE, TESOL, TEFL) will be an advantage.
- Experience in teaching international curricula or working with diverse student groups.
