Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Overview:
- We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in managing financial records, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with both local and UK accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IFRS, IAS, VAT, Tax regulations in Bangladesh, and a strong understanding of payroll, employee tax calculations, and tax return processes.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and IAS standards.
- Handle month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts, and verifying entries for completeness and accuracy.
- Record and manage daily financial transactions, including cash flow management to support the organization’s financial stability.
- Process invoices, manage accounts payable, and maintain vendor communications to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of employee taxes and contributions.
- Calculate employee taxes and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT returns and income tax filings in Bangladesh, and support UK tax return preparation as needed.
- Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries, and performing regular account reconciliations.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary financial documentation.
- Research and stay current with tax regulations in both Bangladesh and the UK, contributing to tax planning and advisory efforts.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting
- CA CC or CMA or ACCA Partly qualified
Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Software Company, IT Enabled Service
Additional Job Requirements
- Age at least 22 years
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, payroll processing, tax return preparation, and cash flow management.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS, VAT, Bangladesh and UK tax regulations, and payroll tax compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
