Job Description / Responsibility
- As a Drafting Engineer at Innovate Engineering and Development, you will play a pivotal role in transforming conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and blueprints. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support various engineering and construction projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- Your job responsibilities include the following activities:
- Use CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D to create detailed drawings, plans, and schematics for civil engineering projects.
- Generate drawings for various project components, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and structural drawings.
- Translate design concepts and specifications provided by civil engineers, architects, or project managers into accurate technical drawings and plans.
- Interpret sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to produce clear and comprehensive drawings that convey design intent and technical details.
- Adhere to drafting standards, guidelines, and best practices for civil engineering drawings, including national and international standards such as BNBC, ANSI, ISO, and ASME.
- Maintain consistency and uniformity in drawing presentation, formatting, and annotation across different drawing sheets and project phases
- Coordinate with other members of the design team, including architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and landscape architects, to integrate civil drawings with other disciplines.
- Ensure that civil drawings are coordinated and compatible with architectural, structural, and mechanical systems to achieve design consistency and integrity.
- Prepare as-built drawings and documentation to reflect changes, modifications, and deviations from original design drawings during construction or post-construction phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines in all drafted designs to maintain quality and integrity.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all drafts, revisions, and design changes for reference and future modifications.
- Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to clarify design specifications, resolve issues, and incorporate feedback into drafts.
- Identify and troubleshoot design issues, proposing solutions to improve efficiency, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in design and drafting software, and best practices to enhance drafting processes and deliver innovative solutions.
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
