Job Responsibilities :

Strategy:
  • Challenging and contributing to the development, articulation and implementation of the overall clothing sourcing strategy.
  • Applying my local knowledge and expertise to translate clothing sourcing strategy into an action plan for my team and region.
  • Identifying and addressing key dependencies and issues by seeing the whole business perspective
  • Providing clear thought leadership and strategic thinking on sourcing models, suppliers, product mix and commercial opportunities

Operational:

  • Develop and maintain ethical sources through a compliant global supply base with strong governance processes in place
  • Working closely with the Technical and Responsible Sourcing teams to ensure we are sourcing from technically and ethically approved suppliers and that all factories are approved, audited, and accredited in line with the required Tesco standards.
  • Leading and developing the team to drive competitive advantage and cost savings through close collaboration with buying teams using data to support price negotiations.
  • Owning the end-to-end production process, ensuring all sourcing critical path milestones are achieved on time
  • Delivering change, improvement and innovation – developing existing services / products / infrastructure and championing change programs, ensuring changes are embedded successfully
  • Leading the Product Sourcing teams in my region to ensure samples meet the Buying Brief and range framework as per the sourcing strategy
  • Managing the information flow of forecasts and reviewing the risk and impacts on capacities between Tesco Sourcing, Suppliers and Buying Teams

Supplier Partnerships:

  • Leading the Supplier base in my categories and identifying new suppliers, sources or product opportunities aligned to sourcing strategy
  • Leading supplier partnerships & maintaining engagement across the supplier base to ensure we deliver best quality products at the right price for our customers
  • Developing a clear supplier strategy that establishes who our strategic partners are & develop joint plans for business improvements & opportunities
  • Leading the management of contract processes with suppliers to ensure commercial terms are delivered
  • Identifying the opportunity to improve the overall satisfaction rate in our Supplier Viewpoint score, oversee and agreed the action plan
  • Using a One Team approach execute the Supplier Partnership Plan & Supplier Contingency Plan

People

  • Developing & leading a high performing team by empowering them to do their jobs.

  • Being an active member of the Sourcing leadership team who manages the sourcing strategy, mitigates any risks & promotes a one team way of working across functions.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acts with integrity and due diligence; also reinforces positive COBC messages to colleagues and suppliers, while encouraging a “speak up” culture
  • Ensuring their teams follow all company policies and procedures such as Recruitment, Sample Handling, Travel & Expenses, Remote Working, Gift & Entertainment etc.
  • Identifying fraud and bribery risks, ensuring controls are in place and colleagues are aware of their responsibilities in mitigating any identified risks.
  • Living our values, respecting other colleagues’ cultural differences and viewing & helping to create a great place to work and encouraging others to do the same
  • Forecasting and managing budgets effectively, always being cost conscious
Academic Qualifications : 
  • Minimum Graduate/Bachelor`s degree in any discipline     
Experience Required :
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in sourcing field
