Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Scope: The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT projects within scope, time, and budget while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The incumbent will oversee the entire project lifecycle, manage risks, and drive digital transformation initiatives for the organization. - Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Project Planning and Management:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Ensure adherence to the project plan and adjust as necessary to meet changing requirements.
- 2. Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and prioritize project requirements.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- 3. Team Coordination:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, including developers, analysts, testers, and external vendors.
- Ensure team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the project team.
- 4. Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential project roadblocks.
- Monitor project progress and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- 5. Project Execution and Delivery:
- Oversee the implementation of IT systems and solutions, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Manage project dependencies and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
- 6. Vendor and Resource Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met, including SLAs, NDAs, and warranties.
- Optimize resource utilization across multiple projects.
- 7. Agile and Digital Transformation:
- Implement Agile methodologies to drive iterative development and rapid delivery.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to modernize systems and processes.
- Promote the adoption of cloud-based, microservices, and containerization technologies.
- 8. Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including requirements, design specifications, and user manuals.
- Adhere to regulatory and compliance standards within the insurance domain.
- Maintain documentation for audits and organizational knowledge transfer.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 10 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Banks, Insurance, Telecommunication, Multinational Companies, Group of Companies
Additional Job Requirements
- Functional Competencies:
- Proven expertise in managing the end-to-end IT project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of ICT concepts, system development lifecycle (SDLC), and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Trello.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
- Experience in implementing cloud-based solutions, microservices architecture, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of business process modeling (BPMN) and queue management systems (e.g., RabbitMQ) is an added advantage.
