Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and manage all VAT transactions using NBR-approved VAT software, ERP and Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure the timely issuance of Tax Invoices (Mushak-6.3) at all sales points.
- Prepare and submit Value Added Tax Returns (Mushak-9.1) on a monthly basis in compliance with applicable laws and deadlines.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly and annual VAT and income tax returns, including the preparation of all required supporting documentation.
- Identify tax planning opportunities to enhance compliance and optimize tax positions in coordination with the finance team.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accurate representation of tax obligations.
- Maintain proper record-keeping of all income tax-related documents and transactions in accordance with legal requirements.
- Regularly maintain and update VAT software, ensuring its data accuracy, functionality, and compliance with current tax laws.
- Maintaining liaison with VAT/ Tax or other regulatory authority
- Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accounting
- Masters in Accounting/ Finance
- CA-CC (Part Qualified) / ACCA / ICMAB (Part Qualified).
- ITP / VAT Consultant Certification will be given Preference.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Manufacturing (FMCG), Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM), Group of Companies, Developer, Ice Cream, Dairy
Additional Job Requirements
- Age at least 30 years
- High level of integrity, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.
- Proven experience in VAT/ Tax related Works.
- Adequate knowledge on MS Office package especially in Advanced MS Excel.
- Experience of working with ERP or VAT software
- Possess compliance mindset and innovation focus.
- Ability to handle complex situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
