Job Description / Responsibility

  • ORTRIO Limited, a subsidiary of AKSID Corporation Limited, is the exclusive distribution partner for a leading manufacturer of specialty water treatment chemicals in Bangladesh. We are seeking a mid-level Marketing & Sales Representative to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth across industrial sectors. This role is ideal for a technically proficient sales professional eager to excel in a high-growth, B2B technical sales environment
  • Key Responsibilities
  • New Customer Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in targeted industries (textiles, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, power, manufacturing. Develop a robust sales pipeline and convert prospects into customers, expanding the market reach of our brand of water treatment chemicals.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (plant managers, engineers, procurement heads) at client organizations. Regularly visit industrial sites to understand client needs and provide tailored chemical solutions.
  • Technical Sales & Consulting: Leverage your technical knowledge of water treatment to consult clients on optimal chemical treatment programs (e.g., boiler water, cooling tower, RO, wastewater treatment). Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and trials to showcase the effectiveness of Metito's chemical solutions.
  • Sales Targets & Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs by effective territory management and strategic account planning. Negotiate and close contacts in line with company pricing and profitability guidelines.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging customer needs in the water treatment sector. Provide feedback and market insights to management for strategy adjustment.
  • Reporting & Coordination: Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities, leads, and customer contacts. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses for the Managing Director. Coordinate with Ortrio's marketing team on promotional activities (trade shows, seminers, marketing campaigns) to increase brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Based at AKSID's Head Office in Dhaka, with a significant amount of time spent in the field. Expect a field-oriented role, visiting industrial facilities, production plants, and client offices regularly.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel within Bangladesh (up to 60-70% of the
  • time) to meet clients on-site. This includes travel to industrial hubs outside Dhaka. A valid driving license and willingness to travel by car and occasionally by air/rail to distant client sites are required.
  • Reporting Line: You will report to the Managing Director at Ortrio. Regular meetings and reporting will be required to discuss pipeline status, market issues, and strategy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams- including technical service engineers from Metito (for complex troubleshooting or trials), the marketing team (for lead generation campaigns and materials), and customer service/logistics (to ensure timely product delivery and support)
  • Schedule: Full-time position (weekday business hours), with flexibility needed to accommodate client schedules. Occasionally, you may need to attend industry events or client meetings in evenings or weekends as per business needs.

Educational Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related technical field. (An MBA or relevent business coursework is a plus but not required.)

Additional Job Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of B2B industrial sales experience, preferably in water treatment chemicals or specialty chemicals. Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and acquiring new industrial clients is required.
  • Technical Background: Strong foundation in water treatment processes and
  • chemistry. Hands-on experience or knowledge of industrial water treatment applications, or effluent treatment) is highly desirable.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the operational needs and challenges
  • of factories/plants in sectors like textiles, food processing, pharmaceuticals, power generation, or manufacturing. Prior exposure to selling technical products or services in these settings is essential for quick success in this role.
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.
  • Ability to develop compelling value propositions and handle price and contract negotiations professionally.
  • Communication & Presentation: Outstanding communication skills in both
  • English and Bengali. Capable of explaining complex technical concepts in clear, layman terms during presentations and demos. Strong business writing skills for proposals and reports.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret water quality data and process requirements to recommend appropriate chemical solutions. Quick learner to grasp Metito's product range and apply it to solve client problems.
  • Relationship-Building: Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-centric
  • mindset. Able to establish trust and credibility with engineers, operators, and senior stakeholders. Adept at maintaining long-term relationships for ongoing business and referrals.
  • Self-Motivation & Organization: Results-drive and proactive in pursuing leads
  • and closing deals. Well-organized in managing time, scheduling client visits, and documenting activities. Able to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker who can troubleshoot basic technical
  • issues in water treatment and provide or coordinate solutions. Creative in addressing customer challenges and customizing offerings to meet unique needs.
  • Digital Skills: Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for sales reporting and presentations. Experience with CRM software to track opportunities and customer interactions.
  • Preferred Industry Experience
  • Candidates with prior experience or exposure in the following industries will be given preference, as such background helps in understanding client processes and needs:
  • Water Treatment & Chemicals: Experience working at water treatment companies or selling water treatment chemicals (boiler chemicals, cooling tower inhibitors, RO antiscalants, etc.).
  • Textile Manufacturing: Knowledge of textile dyeing/finishing plants, utility water needs, or effluent treatment in textile mills.
  • Power Plants & Heavy Industry: Experience dealing with power generation facilities or heavy industrial manufacturing (where boiler feed water, cooling water, or wastewater treatment chemicals are used).
  • General Manufacturing: Broad experience with factories in sectors such as paper, steel chemicals, or any industry with significant water useage and treatment requirements.
  • (Having anetwork or existing contacts within these sectors is a plus and can help accelerate success in this role.)
