Job Description / Responsibility
- Oversee civil engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and review project schedules, budgets, and other necessary documents.
- Ensure all project activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Review and approve designs, plans, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
- Collaborate with architects, urban planners, and other engineers to develop project plans.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate potential challenges or opportunities.
- Supervise on-site activities and ensure that construction work is performed in compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
- Monitor construction progress and quality standards to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Prepare project cost estimates and ensure that the project remains within financial constraints.
- Approve procurement of materials and equipment and monitor their use on-site.
- Ensure that any issues or conflicts are resolved in a timely manner to avoid project delays or cost overruns.
- Manage unexpected situations like design changes or unforeseen conditions at the construction site.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation such as project reports, progress reports, and permit applications.
- Regularly update senior management on project status, risks, and issues.
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and maintain proper records for audits. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure efficient collaboration among departments.
- Liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ensure that the project complies with environmental standards and sustainable construction practices.
- Implement strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the project, such as energy-efficient designs or waste reduction.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and other relevant regulations.
- Keep up to date with changes in the civil engineering industry, including regulations and safety standards.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering, Master of Science (MSc) in Civil Engineering
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years
