Job Description / Responsibility
- Job Context: BLAST is seeking a Senior Outreach Officer for the Head Office. The Sr. Outreach Officer is a mid-level position whose role is to provide need-based support to the Programme Specialist/ Assistant Director, Programme (Economic Justice Cluster), and all partner organizations, especially Paralegals, Self-help Groups (SHGs), and Trade Unions. S/he is also responsible for monitoring regular field/front-line activities by including paralegals, along with field visits to ensure instant need-based support to achieve project outcomes.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the PLS project, facilitating communication among the cluster team legal, MEAL, Finance, Admin, and HR as well as partner organizations to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Regular Communication with Paralegals, SHG, TUs/Partner organizations of relevant projects in the Economic Justice (EJ) cluster and collect all primary documents, and information for necessary reporting.
- Follow up with the Paralegals/SHGs to develop monthly, quarterly, and annual action plans, guided by the Programme Specialist/ Assistant Director (EJ).
- Draft in-house meeting notes, and event notes/ reports, as guided by the assistant Director (EJ), and submit them to the AD (EJ) for review.
- Prepare individual field visit plans aligning with the annual field visit plans and ensure on-spot support to the paralegals and SHGs as needed.
- Prepare and submit a detailed trip report with necessary findings, recommendations, and action plans for further development of partner organizations with a follow-up mechanism.
- Prepare and submit money requisition to the Finance and Programme Team following the BLAST financial manual.
- Assist in developing tools for Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for capacity-building training for partner organizations and track the progress using different tools to be produced by the Programme Specialist.
- Manage the logistical and financial components of the project, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
- Collect all reports from the paralegals and primary review in line with the specific project progress indicators and provide necessary feedback in consultation with the Programme Specialist/ AD-EJ.
- Provide timely and accurate internal reports on project progress and outcomes.

Additional Job Requirements
- Age at least 30 years
- At least 5 years of working experience in NGO program management or implementation preferably on Labour issues/RMG sector/ leather goods industry/Construction, etc.
- Should have significant experience working on Workers’ Rights/ Industrial relations issues.
- Experience in using mobile apps.
- Know the RMG/ leather goods industry in Bangladesh.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Able to work quickly and well under pressure, both independently and as a team member, juggling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
- Capacity to work independently, and under pressure.
- Computer operating knowledge especially in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills and proven experience in interpreting information and report writing in Bangla and English.
- The candidate should also be skilled at email communication.
