Job Description / Responsibility
- We are seeking a proactive and skilled IT Technician to join our Technical Support Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, providing technical support to end-users, and ensuring the proper functioning of our organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves both in-office and field support, requiring a blend of technical expertise and excellent customer service skills.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Hardware & Software Maintenance
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices including printers, scanners, and network devices.
- Set up and maintain CCTV systems and fire alarm systems, ensuring optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support to end-users, both inside and outside the office, addressing any hardware, software, or network-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including the repair or replacement of damaged components.
- Support end-users in resolving technical challenges and providing training where necessary.
- Network & Infrastructure Management
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and other related equipment.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Respond promptly to service issues, system outages, or emergencies to minimize disruptions.
- Inventory & Resource Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and other IT resources, ensuring timely procurement and availability of necessary components.
- Track IT equipment distribution and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
Educational Requirements
- HSC, Diploma in Engineering
- Minimum HSC or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and network management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
- Experience in CCTV, Fire alarm system installation.
- Understanding of IT service management and support systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills to assist end-users with technical issues.
- At least 3+ years of experience as IT technician and servicing related work.
