Job Description / Responsibility
- Perform aseptic microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process materials and finished pharmaceutical using USP methods, Petri film test methods, and automated colorimetric count methods for total aerobic plate count, yeasts and molds, E. Coli, Staphylococcus Aureus,Salmonella, Bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria and Psuedomonas.
- Maintain the use of live microbiological agents and cultures.
- Collect and analyze samples for environmental monitoring (water, swabs, and air) of microbiological load. Evaluate data for trends.
- Perform and document work in compliance with standard operating procedures, cGMP regulations, and applicable laboratory safety standards.
- Perform equipment calibrations and qualification.
- Perform method validations, method transfers, and method troubleshooting.
- Conduct microbial limit, endotoxin and other testing as per standard procedures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all microbiological analyses.
- Monitor environmental conditions of clean rooms and production areas.
- Investigate and document any microbial deviations and non-conformities.
- Provide training and support to junior scientists and laboratory technicians.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Microbiology, Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Age at least 28 years
- 3 to 5 years experience in similar position.
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Pharmaceutical / Medicine Companies.
- The incumbent should be self-driven to work under pressure, result oriented with 'can do' attitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The candidate should have sound knowledge in MS office Package.
