Job Description / Responsibility
- WellDev is a technology-driven software development company committed to delivering top-tier digital solutions. As we continue to grow, we are looking for skilled and motivated Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in PHP and Vanilla JavaScript to join our team. You will be working closely with a dynamic international team to develop robust and scalable applications tailored to real-world business needs. This position is ideal for someone who values clean code, modular architecture, and the art of building from scratch—without over-relying on frameworks.
- Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using core PHP and Vanilla JavaScript.
- Work with custom/self-written frameworks or build and maintain reusable frameworks in PHP and JS when needed.
- Develop and optimize complex business logic on the SQL layer (PostgreSQL) using functions and triggers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including backend, frontend, QA, and product to ensure seamless integration.
- Write clean, modular, secure, and scalable code with proper documentation.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate them.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Stay updated with modern development practices and share knowledge with peers.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability of the codebase.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives as part of Agile ceremonies.
- Maintain and improve existing systems by refactoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting issues.
Educational Requirements
- Master of Science (MSc)
- M.Sc/B.Sc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant fields is an advantage but not required.
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
- Software Company, IT Enabled Service, Business-to-Business (B2B) Software and Services Startup
Additional Job Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in professional software development is required for Software Engineers, and 3 to 5+ years for Senior Software Engineers.
- Strong expertise in PHP (without relying heavily on popular frameworks).
- Hands-on experience working with or developing custom/self-written PHP frameworks.
- Solid skills in Vanilla JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and event handling.
- Experience working with self-written JavaScript frameworks is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, especially in implementing business logic using SQL functions and triggers.
- Experience with Git and version control practices. Experience with SVN is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira or Trello.
- Familiarity with RESTful API development is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective and professional interpersonal communication skills in English are mandatory.
- Ability to tackle new challenges, perform proactively, and take ownership within the scope.

Other Benefits
Monthly compensation package of BDT 60,000 for Software Engineer and 80,000 - 120,000 for Senior Software Engineer during the probationary period.
After the completion of the Probationary Period (6 Months in Standard Case - Can be reduced for extraordinary performers), salary will be reviewed.
