Job Description / Responsibility

  • Project Role and Overview:
  • The Feed the Future Bangladesh Inclusive Access to Finance Activity (IAF) is a $34 million, USAID-supported project that will unlock finance for small businesses and farmers, make agricultural supply chains more inclusive and sustainable, and improve inclusivity in the financial sector in Bangladesh. To accomplish this, IAF will engage strategic partners to deploy innovative solutions to address constraints in agriculture value chains and agriculture financing; deploy incentives and capacity building to financial institutions to expand appropriate and inclusive lending to or investment in agriculture; and engage the private sector to advocate for systemic improvements and scale social impact. From 2024 to 2029, The Bangladesh Inclusive Access to Finance Activity will unlock $448 million in finance, driving sustainable agricultural lending and promoting inclusive growth. By improving access to finance for farmers and micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and the policy environment in the financial sector, IAF with increase farmer revenue, create jobs, and contribute to Bangladesh’s economic growth in an inclusive and environmentally friendly manner.
  • The Communications and Learnings Associate will support the Communications Manager and Learning Advisor in developing and delivering high-quality communications and learning materials, ensuring alignment with the project’s MEL and CLA strategies under the supervision of the MEL and CLA Director. This role focuses on enhancing project visibility, managing media relations, and promoting knowledge-sharing to achieve project goals.
  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Communications Manager and Learning Advisor in designing and delivering high-quality communications and learning products under the guidance of the MEL and CLA Director
  • Assist in preparing project reports, including weekly, quarterly, and annual deliverables, ensuring that MEL and CLA components are effectively integrated into communication outputs
  • Support the design and roll out of all tools to effectively communicate project activities and results, (i.e. website, videos, visual images, dashboard, press releases, flyers, etc.)
  • Ensure consistent application of branding and marking standards across all communication materials
  • Maintain project library of all communications tools, photos and events in a digital format
  • Support media outreach by drafting press releases, organizing press conferences, and arranging interviews with project representatives
  • Support development of project events and workshops in collaboration with project teams
  • All other duties deemed necessary assigned by the supervisor
  • Position Requirements
  • Proven experience in communications, learnings or outreach, preferably on a USAID project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor communications for diverse audiences, including via written reports, social media posts, and presentations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, service providers and clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in visual design language, including creating appealing and communicative visual products is required
  • Experience with design software, such as Adobe Illustrator or similar tools, is highly desirable
  • Experience developing or coordinating subcontract development of shortform videos is preferred
  • Familiarity with the USAID Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) approach is an added advantage
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities
