Job Description / Responsibility
- Averroes International School is a leading Islamic international school committed to nurturing global leaders with a strong grounding in Islamic values and culture. We strive to combine academic excellence with the promotion of holistic, responsible, and ethical learning. It provides education up to A Level based on prestigious Cambridge series of programs and Pearson Edexcel. It has three branches with seven campuses spread across Dhaka.
- Subject: English/ Mathematics/ Bangla /Al Quran/ Arabic language/ Islamic studies etc.
- Reporting to: Coordinator/Head of Department/Section Head/Vice Principal
- Duties and Responsibilities of a Subject Teacher:
- Prepare and deliver lessons to students in the assigned subject area.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Assess student learning through various forms of assessment, such as tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work to support their academic growth.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Utilize educational technology and online resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest educational research and best practices in the subject area.
- Participate in professional development activities and workshops to improve teaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
- Provide additional support or remediation to students who require extra assistance.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Additional Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably in an English Medium Islamic School.
- Candidates with professional teaching qualification (i.e. B.Ed/ Cambridge Celta/ Cambridge Delta/ Cambridge CDiTL/CCiTL/ TKT/iPLS CPD Courses/Cambridge certificate courses/ British Council certificate courses) will be preferred.
- Proficiency in the subject area being taught.
- Experience in teaching at the relevant grade level or subject area.
- Knowledge of curriculum standards and educational best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
